2025 Program Overview and Structure
Our expanded rehabilitation program represents a collaborative effort between Damascus House Ministries and the Georgetown County Detention Center administration. This partnership demonstrates how faith-based organizations and correctional facilities can work together effectively to address substance abuse and reduce recidivism.
The program’s successful implementation in January 2025 followed extensive planning and coordination between Damascus House staff and GCDC leadership to ensure all security protocols and program objectives could be harmoniously integrated.
Key components of our program structure include:
- Daily Program Sessions: Structured content delivery Monday through Friday, 8-11 AM and 2-4 PM
- Evening Ministry Components: PICC Worship Service (Mondays) and Celebrate Recovery (Wednesdays)
- Dedicated Housing: Program participants reside in a dedicated block, creating a supportive community environment
- Big Brother/Little Brother Mentoring: As participants progress through the program, they develop leadership skills by mentoring newer participants
- Comprehensive Curriculum: Our 12-week rotational curriculum ensures thorough coverage of all recovery elements
The program operates continuously throughout the year, allowing for consistent delivery of rehabilitation services without interruption. This structure provides approximately 26 program hours weekly, creating an immersive rehabilitation experience.
We’re grateful for GCDC’s support in making this expanded program possible, demonstrating the power of community partnerships in addressing the challenges of addiction and recidivism.

2024-2025 Program Growth and Impact
Damascus House has seen remarkable growth in our detention center ministry:
- Expanded Reach: In 2024, we achieved 527 Inmate Contact Days. For 2025, we project between 2,300-2,500 Inmate Contact Days—a more than 400% increase.
- Increased Capacity: Our dedicated program block can accommodate up to 14 participants at any given time, with a focus on maintaining optimal staff-to-participant ratios for personalized attention.
- Measurable Outcomes: We track program effectiveness through Key Performance Indicators:
- Program Completion, Stage 1: 80% successful completion target for the initial three weeks
- Program Completion, Stage 2: 70% successful completion target for the full three-month program
- Improved Accessibility: Recent program adjustments have reduced the minimum detention center stay requirement from 30 days to 14 days, allowing more individuals to benefit from our services.
The program operates continuously throughout the year, allowing for consistent delivery of rehabilitation services without interruption. This structure provides approximately 26 program hours weekly, creating an immersive rehabilitation experience.

Other Ways to Partner With Damascus House
Damascus House is built upon the 60-year-old foundational curriculum created by Dunklin Memorial in Okeechobee, FL. After reviewing the facilities and programs of many other recovery centers in America, the board of Damascus House wholeheartedly settled on the extremely successful programming and curriculum of Dunklin.
