Damascus House
At Damascus House we believe that God’s vision for our lives is so much greater than just being sober. Sobriety is merely a by-product of an intimate relationship with Jesus. Jesus transforms Addicts into Disciples. Our aim is to provide an environment where this miraculous work can take place.
Damascus House Mission Statement
Damascus House transforms men who are dependent upon self and substances through ways to escape addiction where they can be rescued (from themselves and their addiction), redeemed (to a right relationship with Jesus, set free from bondage), and restored (to their families and friends), to become disciples with a Christ-Centered Hope and Future through the message of the Gospel.
This Damascus House transformation is resourced by private donors, governmental and private grants, and affiliation with Pawleys Island Community Church.
Damascus House Vision
“Damascus House exists to transform addicts to disciples by following a road to recovery into a Christ-Centered Hope and Future.”
More About Our Foundational Curriculum
Rescue, Redeem, and Restore
Damascus House is built upon the 60-year-old foundational curriculum created by Dunklin Memorial in Okeechobee, FL. After reviewing the facilities and programs of many other recovery centers in America, the board of Damascus House wholeheartedly settled on the extremely successful programming and curriculum of Dunklin.

Rescue
The ‘rescue’ phase introduces participants to a community that supports their recovery, instills discipline and spiritual practices, and addresses past damages from addiction to promote personal accountability.
Redeem
The ‘redeem’ phase builds trust and accountability, teaches about addiction, and helps overcome denial, with participants taking on roles and engaging in group work within a supportive, honest recovery environment.
Restore
The ‘restore’ phase involves deep emotional healing and growth in personal responsibility, with participants eventually assuming leadership and mentorship roles to reinforce their recovery and spiritual development.
